Our mission

DropTheBeat exists because hiring a DJ for a wedding, club night, festival, or corporate event shouldn't require six middleman platforms taking 25% off the top. Event planners deserve a direct line to the DJ. DJs deserve a free baseline listing they can grow into.

So we built a directory: 15,806 DJs across 52 states and 2,624 cities. Search by location. Search by genre. Reach out directly. No commission. No gatekeeping.

How it works

  • For event planners and venues: Browse free. Filter by state, city, or one of 30+ genres. Profiles include sample mixes, venue history, contact info, and pricing. Book direct.
  • For DJs: Every DJ in the directory starts with a free Unsigned listing. Claim your profile, upload photos and mixes, and you're live. Upgrade to a paid tier when you want bigger reach.
  • For venues: Featured under each city page so the DJs working your room get visibility. Free for now.

Why we built this

Existing DJ directories either charge a fortune to list, take a commission on every booking, or are abandoned husks last updated in 2014. We wanted one place where a wedding planner in Boise can find the right open-format DJ in five clicks, and where a DJ in San Juan can be discovered by someone planning a corporate event in Bayamon.
